Rally Legend 6-9 oktober San Marino

Om en dryg vecka är det dags för den 14:e upplagan av Rally Legend. Tävlingen körs som vanligt i den lilla
republiken San Marino
Med ett starfält på dryga 150 ekipage från i stort sett hela Europa, gör man upp om segern i tre olika klasser
HISTORIC, MYTH och WRC-Kit.
Till skillnad från vårt eget stora Historic event "Midnattssolsrallyt" så har man här möjlighet att få se 80-talets
brutala rallymonster i full action.

Detta är första gången jag besöker rallyt, och det ska bli mycket kul att få uppleva den otroliga mångfald av
bilmärken och modeller som tävlingen bjuder på.
Det är för övrigt 30 år sedan jag såg en Lancia Delta S4 live. Detta var i Svenska Rallyt 1986 där Markku Alen och Henri Toivonen deltog. Det var sista gången grupp-B bilarna deltog i Svenska Rallyt.

Något Svenskt ekipage deltar tyvärr inte i år, men från vårt grannland Finland kommer Juha Kankkunen i en
Lancia Delta Intergrale,  Marcus Grönholm VW Polo R WRC,
Fransmannen Gilles Panizzi Peugeot 306 Kit,  Armin Schwarz  Toyota Celica ST 165,
Alister Mcrae  Subaru Legacy, Italienaren Miky Biasion  Lancia Rally 037 och givetvis publikfavoriten
Paolo Diana i sin vassa Fiat 131 Racing.

In about one week it is time for the 14th edition of the Rally Legend. The competition is run in the small Republic of San Marino as usual.

A star field of more than 150 rigs from virtually all of Europe, is fighting for victory in three classes: HISTORIC- MYTH and WRC-Kit.

Unlike our Swedish large Historic event "Midnight Sun Rally"  San Marino gives the opportunity to watch the brutal rally monsters from the eighties in action.

This is the first time I visit the rally, and it will be incredibly fun to experience the unbelievable diversity of makes and models that the competition offers.

Besides, 30 years have passed since I saw a Lancia Delta S4 live.That was in the Swedish Rally in 1986 where Markku Alen and Henri Toivonen participated.I It was the last time Group B cars took part in the Swedish Rally.

Unfortunately, no Swedish equipage is participating this year, but from our neighboring country Finland Juha Kankkunen will take part in a Lancia Delta Intergrale, but also Marcus Gronholm VW Polo R WRC.

Other participants are Gilles Panizzi Peugeot 306 Kit, Armin Schwarz Toyota Celica ST 165, Alister McRae Subaru Legacy, The Italian Miky Biasion Lancia Rally 037 and of course crowd favorite Paolo Diana in his sharp Fiat 131 Racing.
